This parure is composed of necklace, bracelet, and earrings made in Taxco during the 1940’s. Time is a great friend to the vintage repousse pieces. Time allows patina to develop and show the detail work in the silver. The silver jewelry has in turn developed a more three-dimensional character not seen in new silver jewelry. Repousse work gives the impression of weight with light-weight comfort when wearing this jewelry.
Details:
Necklace is 17 inches long and ¾ inches wide. Weight is 1.5 ounces. Markings are "Taller CBA, Made in Mexico, 925, Taxco, Sterling". Bracelet is 7 7/8 inches long, 7/8 inches wide. Weight is 0.8 ounces. Earrings are 1 ¼ inches long, 7/8 inches wide. Weight is 0.3 ounces. All pieces in this parure are marked 925 to indicate that they are sterling silver. Markings of pieces are consistent with early 1940’s before Eagle marking system went into effect. Condition is good. The back of necklace has some creasing on some of the individual medallions, but no damage to the front of the necklace is visible when worn. No dents, dings or scratches are noted on any of the individual pieces. These pieces have not been polished, to highlight the patina. The parure is slightly larger than typically found and would be great for someone who wants a longer necklace & bracelet with a vintage look.
