This stunning and dramatic necklace is based on a Fred Davis design of Mexico City. Fred Davis preceded William Spratling in the creation of Mexican silver jewelry for the tourist trade in the 1920's. Frida Kahlo was photographed wearing a necklace of this design with a large center pendant attached. This necklace is sure to draw attention and compliments when worn. Truly magnificent art to wear!

Necklace has a wearable length of 15 3/4 inches and is 2 inches wide. Weight is a substantial 6.2 ounces. Markings are "FVE Hecho en Mexico 925" and Eagle 1. The necklace is composed of sterling silver and turquoise. Closure is a simple hook. The necklace was created between 1948 and 1978 when the Eagle marking system was in effect in Mexico. The necklace has original patina intact.
