This vintage fine .980 silver & amethyst cuff bracelet from Taxco has a sleek and bold look. Ideal for someone who desires a cuff bracelet in a larger size. The rope trim surrounding the amethyst was frequently used in the jewelry from Taxco in the 1930's. Early William Spratling jewelry utilized rope bezels for jewelry with stonework. The fine .980 silver was also a hallmark of the finer silversmiths of the era due to the resistance to tarnish and a whiter color.
Details:
Bracelet is 5 7/8 inches long with a 1 3/8 inch gap in the back for a total length of 7 1/4 inches without any adjustments. Because of the design, this could be moved slightly to adjust length. Bracelet is 1 3/4 inches wide in front. Weight is 1.7 ounces. Markings are "Taxco 980". Bracelet is pre-eagle mark and was made prior to 1948. Condition is good. Silver has no noticable scratches, dents or dings. Amethyst has a tiny fleabite but this was discovered under loop magnification. Amethyst has no cracks. Bracelet has not been polished.
