This magnificent necklace with beautiful deep purple amethysts is a wonderful example of vintage Mexican silver artistry. I attribute this necklace to Jose Anton of Mexico City because I have seen the same piece produced in later years with the Jose Anton mark.
Details:
Necklace is 17 inches long and 3/4 inches wide. Weight is 2.2 ounces. Markings are "Mexico Sterling". Necklace predates 1948 when the Eagle marking system went into effect. Condition of the piece is good to excellent vintage condition. There is some surface wear to stones but no cracks that extend to the surface or major chips. Surface wear is visible when looking through a loop. The stones are natural amethysts and are a deep purple that is dazzling.
