This rare necklace is a fabulous example of modernist styling by an acknowledged master, Salvador Teran, from the golden age of Taxco silver jewerly design. Salvador Teran was a cousin of Antonio Castillo and in the early years of Los Castillo contributed many designs before starting his own taller. The necklace also has the advantage of versatility with the removeable centerpiece. Great patina on this piece and in excellent vintage condition.

Necklace chain has a wearable length of 21 inches and is 3/8 inches wide. The detachable centerpiece has a drop length of 2 1/8 inches and a width of 1 1/2 inches. Weight for the neckalce and centerpiece is 2.8 ounces. Markings are "ARS Plata 925 Hecho en Mex DF Sterling". According to "The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks" by Bille Hougart, the "ARS" hallmark was used for Salvador Teran designs.
