William Spratling sterling silver necklace with jaguar motif was influenced by Pre-Columbian designs. The jaguar was a sacred animal to both the Aztecs and Mayans and frequently featured in Pre-Columbian glyphs on temples. William Spratling was revolutionary in incorporating these ancient designs in his silver jewelry beginning in the 1930's and became a worldwide sensation.  
 
Details:
Necklace has a maximum wearable length of 18 inches. Each jaguar link is 1 inch wide and 5/8 inch in height. Weight for the necklace is 2.0 ounces. Markings for the necklace is "925". The necklace is composed of sterling silver and has a simple hook closure.
