Margarita Fine .980 Silver & Amethyst Earrings Vintage Taxco Pre-Eagle

These delicate vintage floral earrings are accented with amethysts of a deep purple. These vintage earrings have a "980" silver content which was used during the 1930's & 1940's by silversmiths in Taxco. Pieces by Margarita are rarely seen. These earrings predate the Eagle marking system which began in 1948.
 
Details:
Earrings are 1 inch long and 1/2 inch wide. The earrings have original screwbacks. Weight for the pair is 0.4 ounces. Markings are "Margarita 980 Taxco". Amethysts have some surface abrasions consistent with age but this is observed under a loupe. No cracks are visible in the stones. Original patina is present.
